Baby Boomer spreads his wings – Introducing Graham Gall

I have felt a great sense of pride over the last few weeks, when reading the Success Stories that Easy Way students have been sending in.  Thank you to those of you who have had the courage to share your story with me!

As a teacher, there is no greater reward than to hear that my students have taken those tools and techniques and used them to overcome the obstacles, achieve their goals and find a greater passion and joy for the art of photography!

That’s enough about me – it’s time to introduce Graham Gall and share his ‘Success Story’.Graham Gall

Graham first met Adam in the flesh at a seminar in March 2018 when he had decided to seriously address his Photoshop skills. He had struggled with Photoshop up until that time, after having done a TAFE short course which got him started but he never really progressed beyond the basics.

In short I can say as a photographer, Adam changed my life!
Graham is 72 yrs of age and came to professional stills photography after a long career as a Film Maker and Videographer since retiring from a Public Service career at 65. He has had a life long interest in Photography since beginning at about age 10 with a Box Brownie film camera. It remained entirely amateur until about 2018 when as a retired Baby Boomer he decided to get serious and study and develop his skills as far as possible across all genres. Graham has recently focused on Wildlife (especially birds) but also shoots landscapes, travel and portraits. Graham has been employed to do actors and models headshots and to do some corporate work mainly in the motor vehicle industry.

After meeting Adam, Graham has since learned the Easy Way Photoshop skills that he now uses daily.

“I have the full Easy Way Workflow Courses and dip into them whenever I need to.  I also tuned into all of the ‘Lockdown Lives’ and enjoyed them immensely. As a result I feel I have mastered everything I need to produce professional quality images and prints for my Clients, Social media, Exhibitions and Competitions.”

“If I had to pick two things that really made a difference to my photography, they would be the skills Adam teaches in using layers, curves and brushes to achieve a subtle but very effective vignette effect which really changed the way I approached editing. Like Adam, I do not like ‘in your face’ vignetting – I want it to be there but largely invisible.  After watching Adam’s series on ‘How to Win Competitions’, he enabled me to carefully reassess my approach and become my own very critical judge which has had tremendous success.”
“Overall, Adam has taught me to start with a Raw file and systematically assess the things that need to be done to make the image sing without going over the top.  His approach to working with layers with all of the Photoshop tools has made all the difference. If I reach a block in my editing process, I just look up the relevant tutorial and I am usually always able l to solve it with Adam’s help.”

Since 2018, in only three years and working hard on his craft on a daily basis, largely using Adam’s techniques, Graham has achieved a great deal with his achievements listed below.
